Getting started

From order to launch: how we work

An overview of what happens step by step, from placing your order to the website going live – and how long it usually takes.

Once you've ordered a website from us, you may be wondering what happens next. Here's the process step by step, so you know what to expect.

1. Confirmation and kickoff

Right after ordering, you get a confirmation by email. We review what you've chosen and get in touch if anything is unclear. If you chose invoice, we send it now; if you paid by card, the kickoff is already confirmed.

2. We gather what we need

To build the site, we need a little from you – logo, text, images and information about your business. You don't need to have everything ready at once. See What we need from you for a concrete checklist. If we have agreed that we help you with the copy, a conversation and some keywords are enough.

3. We build a first draft

We set up the website based on your package and the content we've received. You get a link to a draft you can view in the browser – nothing is published yet.

4. Review and adjustments

You review the draft and give feedback. We adjust text, images, colours and structure until you're happy. Most projects have one to two rounds of feedback.

5. Domain, email and launch

We connect your domain, set up any email, and get the site ready for search engines. When everything is in place, we set it live.

6. After launch

The site is operated and updated by us as part of the ongoing agreement. If you need changes later, just get in touch.

How long does it take?

For a standard Web Basis site, it typically takes 1–3 weeks from when we have your content until the site is ready. The biggest variable is usually how quickly content and feedback come in – the more you have ready, the faster it goes.
