Terms of service

Last updated 23 June 2026

1. About these terms

These terms of service apply between Ibenta Filipstad (org.nr 919 775 335, "we", "us") and the customer ("you", "the Customer") for the website and operations services we provide. By ordering a service from us, you confirm that you have read and accept these terms.

Our customers are both businesses and private individuals (consumers), and these terms apply to both. If you are a consumer, your mandatory rights under Norwegian consumer law apply in addition – including the right of withdrawal (see section 11) – and nothing in these terms restricts those rights.

2. The service

We build and operate websites based on the package and options you choose when ordering. What is included in your agreement is shown in your order and in the prices displayed in the order tool.

The service normally has two parts: a one-time deliverable (building the website) and an ongoing operations service (hosting, security, backup, maintenance and updates).

3. Ordering and start-up

The agreement is considered formed once we have confirmed your order. We begin work when the necessary content and information from you is available.

You are responsible for providing the content (text, images, logo and so on) and other information we need to deliver the service. Late or incomplete content may delay delivery.

4. Prices, VAT and payment

Prices are shown in the order tool at the time of ordering. All prices are stated excluding VAT, which is added where applicable.

The ongoing operations fee is quoted as a monthly price but invoiced annually in advance. The first invoice covers the one-time development fee plus the first year of operations. Subsequent years are invoiced for operations only.

You can pay by card or by invoice. With card payment, the annual operations fee renews automatically on the registered card. One standard .no domain is included in the annual operations fee, including registration and renewal. Other extensions, additional domains, premium names and any other third-party costs are agreed and priced separately.

5. Ongoing operations and automatic renewal

The operations agreement runs in twelve-month periods and renews automatically for a new twelve-month period unless cancelled before renewal. We give reasonable notice before a renewal where practical.

Operations prices may be adjusted at renewal. Material changes are notified before they take effect, so you can choose to cancel if you do not wish to continue.

6. Cancellation and termination

You may cancel the ongoing operations at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for – the service continues until the end of that paid period, and no refund is given for the current period.

On termination the website is taken offline, as it requires operations to remain available. You keep your domain and the content you have provided or had created. An included .no domain is no longer renewed by us after termination; we transfer it to your own domain account on request so you can renew it yourself. We are happy to assist with a tidy handover.

7. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for ensuring that content you provide is lawful, and that you hold the rights to text, images, logo and other material you give us. You indemnify us against third-party claims arising from material you have provided.

  • Ensure you have the right to use material you provide.
  • Keep contact and billing information up to date.
  • Use the service in accordance with applicable laws.
  • Keep login and access details secure.

8. Content, rights and ownership

You own the content you provide, and you own your domain – it is registered to your business. Once the deliverable is paid in full, you have the right to use the finished website and its content in your business.

We retain the rights to the underlying tools, frameworks, source code and generic components we use to deliver the service, and may reuse general knowledge and techniques in other projects.

9. Operations, uptime and maintenance

We strive for high availability and run the websites on robust infrastructure, but we do not guarantee a specific uptime unless agreed in writing. Brief downtime may occur during maintenance or due to circumstances beyond our control.

We are not responsible for interruptions or faults caused by third parties, for example domain providers, payment providers or other external services.

10. Limitation of liability

We deliver the service with professional skill but give no guarantee of specific results, such as search engine rankings, number of visitors or sales.

Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid for the service in the past twelve months. We are not liable for indirect losses, including lost profit, loss of data or consequential damages, to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under mandatory law.

11. Right of withdrawal for consumers

If you are a consumer, you generally have the right to withdraw from the agreement within 14 days under the Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act (angrerettloven). You exercise this right by notifying us within the deadline, for example by email or using the standard withdrawal form. You can find more information and the form on our right-of-withdrawal page (/en/right-of-withdrawal).

The service is normally delivered over some time, and certain parts may be fully delivered immediately. If you expressly ask us to begin work before the withdrawal period expires – which you confirm when ordering – the following applies:

  • Domain registration is considered fully delivered at the moment of registration. The right of withdrawal for the domain therefore lapses as soon as the domain is registered (cf. angrerettloven § 22).
  • For website development: if you withdraw before the website is fully delivered, you must pay a proportionate amount for the work already performed (cf. angrerettloven § 26). The right of withdrawal lapses once the website is fully delivered.
  • You may cancel the ongoing operations under section 6.

The right of withdrawal does not apply to businesses.

12. Privacy

We process personal data in accordance with our privacy policy and applicable data protection law. See the privacy policy for how we collect and use information.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we will notify you in an appropriate way. Continued use of the service after changes take effect is considered acceptance of the updated terms.

14. Governing law and venue

The agreement is governed by Norwegian law. Disputes are sought resolved amicably. Failing that, Oslo District Court is agreed as the venue, unless otherwise required by mandatory law (consumers may have their home venue).

15. Contact

If you have questions about these terms or your agreement, you are welcome to get in touch with us.
