How to take the archetype test
How the test itself works: fifteen questions, how you answer, and what happens when you're done.
Updated 22 July 2026
The test itself takes a couple of minutes. Here's how it works from start to finish.
Fifteen questions, one at a time
The test has fifteen questions, and you get one question at a time with a progress bar at the top. For each question you see four statements and pick the one that best fits your business.
Two things are worth noting:
- The questions are about the business, not about you as a person. A typical question is "When a happy customer recommends you, what do they say?". Answer based on how the business actually is, not how you wish it were.
- The order of the statements is shuffled. Every visitor gets the statements in a random order, so position doesn't sway the choice. It makes no difference to the result.
You can go back and change answers along the way before you submit.
When you're done
On the last step you confirm you're not a robot (a small Turnstile check) and submit. Your answers are then tallied up, and you're taken to a result page on your own link.
The result is saved behind a unique link, so you can come back to it later. The link isn't searchable and isn't meant for public sharing. To learn what you see on the result page, see Understanding your result.
A couple of good tips
- Answer quickly and honestly. The first thing that feels right usually fits best. Don't overthink it.
- If you're torn between two statements, pick the one that describes the business as it is today, not as you hope it will become.
