Google Business Profile

What a Google business profile is, why it's worth its weight in gold for local businesses, and how we help you get started.

Updated 23 June 2026

Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business) is the free business listing that appears on the right in Google search and as a marker on Google Maps. For local businesses, it's often the very first thing customers see.

Why it matters so much

When someone searches "hairdresser near me" or "accountant Trondheim", Google shows a map with a few businesses at the top – before the regular search results. A well-filled-out profile can give you:

  • Visibility on the map exactly when someone is looking for what you offer.
  • Phone number, opening hours and directions right in the search.
  • Reviews that build trust before the customer has even clicked through to your site.
  • Photos of your premises, products or work.

For many local businesses, the business profile brings more direct contact than the website itself.

What we help with

The Google Business Profile (NOK 2,490) add-on covers setup and optimisation:

  • Creating or claiming the profile and tying it to your business.
  • Filling in all the relevant information: category, services, opening hours, area.
  • Connecting it to your website.
  • Adding photos and a good description.

What you should do next

The profile gets better the more alive it is:

  • Ask happy customers for reviews. That's the single factor that matters most, both for visibility and trust.
  • Reply to reviews – including the critical ones, factually and politely.
  • Keep opening hours updated, especially around holidays.
  • Post updates or new photos now and then.

Do I need it?

If you have local customers or a physical location: yes, this is one of the most valuable things you can do. If you operate purely online with no geographic market, a blog and SEO matter more. Not sure? Have a chat with us.
