Integration
In short
An integration connects two systems so they share data automatically, such as your website and your CRM, or your booking system and your calendar.
Without an integration, you are the connection. You read the enquiry from the contact form and type it into your CRM. You see the order in your online store and create the invoice by hand. An integration does the moving for you, usually through an API, which is the door a system has for talking to other systems.
Common connections in a small business
The form on your website can go straight into your CRM or onto your email list. A booking can land in your calendar and send a confirmation to the customer. Sales in your online store can be passed on to your accounting system, so you do not record them twice.
Many systems have ready-made integrations you can switch on yourself. Always check for one before you pay for something custom. If no ready-made connection exists, or it does not do what you need, we build integrations as part of web applications and internal tools.
Draw your flow
Take a sheet of paper and write down the systems you use: website, email, calendar, accounting, maybe a CRM. Draw an arrow for every time information moves between them. Circle the arrows where you are the one doing the moving. Those are the candidates for an integration, and often for automation too.
